Answer: We move from one thing to another so quickly that we don’t take time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Eat Laugh Purr is my way to focus on what brings joy into my life: I love food; I love Emeril; and I love to laugh.
Eat
My mom taught me how to cook at a pretty young age, and eventually I took over making most of our meals. They were never fancy but instilled a love of cooking in me. My mom cleaned up after me with relative good humor (see natural disaster tendencies) while my dad typically watched with a certain amount of trepidation every time I wielded a knife or blender. Today, I find cooking a great way to express my love to others with the meals and treats I make for them.
Laugh
Nothings beats a good laugh. Emeril and I hope our stories will amuse you and serve as a reminder to enjoy what life offers you. Neither of us are perfect, but that’s not our goal. Our goal is to appreciate every day, laugh often and live joyously. Emeril is better at this than me. I’m more of a work in progress. And that’s okay.
Purr
The obvious reference is, of course, Emeril, His Royal Highness and the most handsome cat in the whole wide world. Yes, I really do tell him that every day. Emeril has no self-esteem issues. He brings so much love and laughter into my life that it would be unfair to not allow him to meow about his awesomeness. The other reason for purr is what it represents to me. A cat’s purr is a beautiful sound of happiness and satisfaction. We should all purr every day.
