He’s back.
Back home. Back to being sassy. Back to being the most handsome cat in the world.
With a shaved rump.
Thank God it’s a cute rump.
The past two weeks have been quite the adventure for Emeril and I. What started out as a simple case of constipation turned into so much more. Emeril ended up having prescrotal urethrostomy surgery (don’t ask) because he could no longer pee. It went very well. Every day he grows stronger and continues to pee and poop. Hallelujah.
There was a point when I thought Emeril might not come back home. And I didn’t know what to do. Emeril is my heart. How do you live without your heart?
As grateful as I am that I didn’t have to find out now, it put a few things in perspective.
- Faith and trust are a requirement. In your vet. In God. In Emeril. In me.
- Every minute is a gift. Stop and appreciate all your blessings every day.
- I’ll always take a moment in this lifetime for an eternity in heaven with Emeril.
I feel blessed to have Emeril back home. Where he belongs. With me. And I’ll never take it for granted again.
