When I went home this past Christmas to visit my family, I had an agenda – to try as many recipes as possible for my blog. First, it’s simply more fun to cook for a crowd and kinder to my waistline. Second, I had cinnamon rolls on my list. They require yeast. I am scared of making yeast breads.
I am not scared of eating them.
I’ll share my cinnamon roll adventures and recipe later this week, but I want to share a simple monkey bread recipe with you first. It’s mid-week and many of us lack the time to prepare a proper cinnamon roll. But monkey bread only takes five minutes to assemble, making it an ideal treat after a busy day, working 9 to 5.
Above is a picture of my niece, Lexi. She enjoyed the monkey bread (her brothers did too), and I coaxed her into posing for a picture for me. This recipe is kid and adult approved, so when you have a craving for cinnamon rolls but have no time—this is a perfect substitute.
