Sometimes – You. Just. Know.
For example, you just know eventually some celebrity will go off the rails (Yup, I’m talking to you, Charlie Sheen). Or you just know the movie will be bad (My poor ears are still ringing from the never-ending bang, bang, bang of Battle: LA). Or that your cat is constipated (HA! Not this week but maybe next week!).
I should have known better; the signs were all there. Yet, I plunged ahead and ate a bad grapefruit. It didn’t taste yucky, which was why I foolishly threw caution to the wind. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t going to turnout well. And I was right.
I realize some of you would probably say it was more like ignoring common sense than overlooking my wise and sage intuition. Whatever.
Sunday wasn’t a good day. Emeril was grumpy, and I was sick. Dog sick. I haven’t had food poisoning in years. Needless to say, food has only become appealing in the past two days. The Irish Beef Stew, posted on Wednesday, was made months ago (and it’s delicious – have you tried it?) but my stomach revolted at the thought of trying a new recipe for today’s post.
I apologize for no new recipe today, but I needed to avoid cooking, eating and smelling food. Don’t worry – I’m back in action and will be cooking up a storm to bring you some new yummy recipes.
In the meantime, remember to always listen to your intuition. You can avoid disappointment when a celeb goes nutso or shock when your cat is constipated. Or food poisoning when your grapefruit is bad. So very, very bad.
