Yummy. Decadent. Fantastic. Easy. These are just a few words to describe my mom’s Special K bars. I’ve enjoyed them since I was a little kid, and they’re mind-boggling good. And now you can enjoy them too.
It’s probably a bit shocking, but I’m actually not big on sweets, which probably seems strange given the number of treats on my blog. Since my desserts receive the most views, I somehow manage to suffer through making and sampling all of them.
I highly recommend you make these bars as soon possible. They are so good and so easy to make. Now, I know some of you might have a few concerns about using corn syrup. It definitely has a bad rep these days. I’m not going to debate the pros and cons of corn syrup, instead I’m just going to follow my dad’s advice and suggest you do the same.
He should probably mark this day down on his calendar.
He always tells me everything in moderation, including dessert. Of course, my dad never skips dessert so it makes sense he’d advocate dessert as being a necessary evil. And he’s probably right. Guzzling gallons of corn syrup daily is probably not good for you, but an occasional Special K bar is probably okay.
Of course, the trick is eating only one after you taste them and find out how easy they are to make! This is where I generally stop listening to my dad. 😀
