Emeril: Meowie Christmas everyone! I am so excited for the holiday season. I have been especially good this year, so I know that I am going to get the best presents, ever!
Tanya: I agree that you’ve been a pretty good kitty overall, but you know that Christmas isn’t just about getting presents, right?
[E] Sure. But it is mostly about me getting lots and lots of presents.
[T] Emeril.
[E] Fine. It is about giving and being with loved ones … like me.
[T] Close enough. Why don’t you tell everyone what your Christmas wish is this year.
[E] To stay healthy and full of pep and that all the other kitties with kidney disease (CRF) feel as good as I do. And that mommy forgets to give me sub-q’s. And that I do not have to go to the vet’s or the emergency clinic ever again. Or have an enema. Because I am a very special kitty, I get to make lots and lots of wishes, but I will share one of my wishes with you. What is your Christmas wish, mommy?
[T] To have a great year, full of love, laughter, joy and success in everything I do. And for Emeril to stay healthy too.
[E] That is a nice wish, especially that last part. Now onto the really important stuff—what did you get me for Christmas?
[T] It’s not Christmas yet, Emeril. You have to wait a few more days to find out. What did you get me for Christmas?
[E] Me. You get me for Christmas. Best. Gift. Ever. Meow!
[T] So true.
