I’m proud to introduce you to Maximillan Emeril. This big ginger tabby stole my heart when I tentatively perused the kitties at my local humane society. My grief over the loss of my beloved Emeril is still strong, but my home felt so empty and my heart so raw that I decided only another big-hearted kitty could help me heal.
Max is two years old and one big ball of energy. He is exhausting! He runs and leaps and scampers all over the apartment. He immediately felt at home and didn’t even hide when I let him out of his carrier. He thoroughly inspected the place, and then we took a cat nap together.
He loves to play and play and play until I beg for a break. He’s a big cat with big white mitts (I just adore big-mitted kitties) and even though he plays hard, he never bites or scratches me. He is a talker but in a more moderate tone than Emeril, who could really bellow when he wanted to (which was every day, and I miss him).
I’ve tried my best to explain to him about his official household duties—modeling for Eat Laugh Purr, blogging, helping me run the house. His response to everything is “let’s play!”.
His presence has certainly softened the edges of my sorrow, even though I have pretty much falsely accused him of having every ailment possible. He has no ailments beyond a slightly paranoid mom. He poops a lot which pleases me more than it should.
I look forward to getting to know him better. I am less looking forward to early morning wake up calls to play. 😀
