I love Christmas: the bright decorations, the holiday music (although not as much as my Mom or Grandma) and the goodwill towards men, women, children and felines. And dogs, too. 😀 I love wrapping presents but am less in love with shopping at the mall during the holidays.
But boy—do I love the smell of the little kiosk where they sell cinnamon roasted almonds every year. For some people, the scent of pine means Christmas. For me, it’s those little nuggets of smelly goodness. And thanks to Two Peas and Their Pod, I learned how easy they were to make at home.
Your house will smell heavenly while the almonds roast to a cinnamony perfection. In fact, you might find yourself pacing around your home, moaning, “Are they done yet? Are they done yet?” Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything.
Of course, in the ideal world, you could make these right before your guests arrive, so your house smells like Christmas. But don’t worry if you can’t—they still taste delicious. They make a great homemade present and are a delicious option to all the other sweet treats during your holiday festivities.
