Sniff. Sniff. My beloved MacBook Pro went to computer heaven last Friday. It is entirely possible that I am to blame. Who am I kidding? I killed my laptop. Computer killer!
I was having a rather lovely Friday when I decided to warm up a nice big bowl of asparagus soup.
You see where this is going—don’t you?
I was enjoying my soup when disaster struck. Somehow, I dropped my big bowl of soup on my laptop. After a split second of sheer terror, I ripped it from its adapter cord and powered down. Since it didn’t immediately short out, I was so hopeful it would work again after a thorough cleaning and plenty of time to dry out.
I was not that fortunate.
The good news is, for some odd reason, the day prior I backed up my most important files.
Whew.
Plus, there is still a real solid chance that my hard drive is okay too.
Double whew.
Life is always interesting. I’m trying to keep a positive outlook, but it isn’t always easy. Especially after getting a hefty bill from your mechanic, but I guess it’s pretty important to have functioning brakes. 🙂
My brother is bringing me a new MacBook Pro next week! Yeah!! So I should be back in business late next week. Woot! Woot!
Tanya, I was wondering how that turned out. Sorry to hear that it died. I would guess that your hard drive should be okay though. Good thing you have a backup anyways. I was going to email you (a pic of my cat) but figured you wouldn’t be able to read it unless you got things sorted out. Hope you get back online soon 🙂
Thankfully the hard drive was okay, which was a huge relief. Even though I had backed my most critical files, I did not back up my pictures and would have hated to lose some photos of Emeril. 🙂
