Okay, in all honesty, I am not roaring, but yawning. Mama woke me up from a nap and started snapping pictures of me because I am very handsome. So I decided to give her something new to work with and started yawning. She loved it!
Of course, Mama loves whatever MaxE does, although I did get into trouble for trying to chew a button off a jacket this weekend. It was so sparkly that I just couldn’t help myself. Mama always yells at me when I chew on things I’m not supposed to—cords, litter box handles or Mama’s toes. Sometimes I even get a time out, which means I have to sit in the bathroom for five minutes.
Or not.
Sometimes I just open the door and scamper out. Mama tries to yell when I do this, but she is smiling because her MaxE is so clever and no door can shut out his awesomeness.
[T] Do you know who always said he was awesome?
Don’t say it, Mama. Don’t you dare say his name.
[T] Emeril. He meowed about his awesomeness 24/7 until he got sick.
Whatever. Could he open doors? No. He could not. He couldn’t even poop. So clearly he was NOT awesome. But I am.
So there.
[T] Uh-huh.
Please, Mama. Everyone knows that I am adored and get everything I want.
[T} Like your super awesome Halloween costume.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It is NOT super awesome. It is super humiliating. I hate it and refuse to wear it again.
[T} I thought you looked so handsome during your photo shoot.
Okay, I did look handsome, only because it is impossible for me not to look adorable. But I am not putting that stupid costume on again.
[T] Of course not. You won’t put it on yourself, but I most certainly will put it on you again. I had to use my flash for the pictures and you know I prefer shooting with natural light. So the costume will be put back on.
NEVER!
[T] You know, Emeril used to just grin and bear it. He’d pout, but he would let me take the pictures so I would take off the costume.
Emeril was a primma donna baby cat. I bet you never forced him to wear such a stupid costume.
[T] He was the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Rudolph the Reindeer, a pumpkin, a frog, a witch … I can’t remember all the the many clothes he was forced to wear.
Whatever, Mama. I am faster and smarter than Emeril. You won’t be able to catch me! Trust me, if you try to put me in that dumb costume, you will hear me ROAR!
….to be continued on Halloween!
OMG such an adorable picture, especially with his whiskers!! Can’t wait to see the Halloween costume! 🙂
Thanks, Anna! Those whiskers of his are adorable and I love his pink pads on his paws. Okay, I just love ALL of Max. He wasn’t too happy about his costume but I thought it was a hoot!!
Now, Max, I want you to be a good kitty and put that costume on for Mama. Think of it this way: when Mama puts the picture of your handsome self in your costume on the blog, the fans will be screaming in adoration of your awesomeness! Do it for your fans, Max E!
You bring up a good point. My fans need me and all of my cuteness. It would be awfully selfish of me to withhold that from my fans. And MaxE is not a brat like Emeril. But my costume is awfully embarrassing. Mama says I have to wear it but I will retaliate so she doesn’t think I like clothes. I will definitely push everything off her dresser and desk while she sleeps. And maybe pounce on her toes too.
