I have a confession: I don’t like football. I don’t like baseball (Sorry, Grandma!) Or pretty much any sport. I don’t even watch the Olympics! Apparently I am an un-athletic, unpatriotic American. I wear the un-athletic title with pride, but I am proud to live in America where I enjoy the legal freedom to hate sports. 🙂
I do understand why people enjoy them. They are just something that has never interested me. The one thing I do enjoy about sporting events is the food.
Tailgating = Fun!
Watching the game = Snoozville.
In fairness, I don’t enjoy eating competitions either. 🙂 I just enjoy eating! LOL!
Some Super Duper Super Bowl Snacks
The best part of any Super Bowl Party is the food … well, in my non-football loving opinion. I compiled a few of my favorites recipes here at Eat Laugh Purr that are sure to make you the MVP of your Super Bowl Party!
White Queso Dip
I love queso. It’s so yummy. And the perfect snack for a big game, party or just because.
Caramelized Leek and Onion Dip
Sure, you can pick up a tub of french onion dip at the market and it’s good. But this homemade version is fantastic and unforgettable.
Pulled Pork Sliders
This fork tender pulled pork conveniently cooks in the crockpot and can be made in advance. Just reheat and top with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Caramel Rice Krispie Bars
Rice krispies with a layer of ooey, gooey caramel between them. Sold! These decadent treats will be devoured by your guests.
Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Filling
This is a favorite childhood treat. I got a ton of recipe requests whenever I bring them to gatherings and always bring home an empty container.
I’m actually going to brunch with friends on Super Bowl Sunday, so I know I’m not the only one who has little interest in the big game. But if you’re going to a Super Bowl party, these snacks will definitely be a huge hit. And be sure to check out my recipe index for more ideas.
Hi Tanya,
Yummy YUM 🙂
I think I’d go with the chocolate cupcakes, which are an all time favorite with me and my family – anything chocolaty goes 🙂
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend 🙂
Hi Harleena,
Those cupcakes are so, so, so good! One of my all-time favorites and one of the most popular recipes here. And you can NEVER go wrong with chocolate! You have a great weekend too!:)
No sports watching in our house either Tanya! No hockey, no football. 🙂
Your sweet desserts look absolutely amazing!! I could so go for those right now 🙂
Enjoy your brunch and hope you & Max have a sunny weekend!!
Glad I’m not the only person who has little interest in sports. I’m not into hockey either but I have a nephew and niece that play, so I will sit through one of their games. I am such a good Auntie! 🙂 I’ve been really craving those chocolate cupcakes because it’s been a long time since I’ve had one. They may have to get made in the near future. You have a great weekend too!
Wow, everything looks sooo good!! Where’s your party so I can invite myself?! j/k I’ll have to try that white queso dip, it looks way more delicious than regular nacho cheese!
Thanks, Anna! If I was hosting a party, you would totally be invited, but hopefully you wouldn’t mind that I talked loudly throughout it and keep trying to see “what else” is on! LOL! The White Queso Dip is yummy but honestly when isn’t a cheese dip yummy? I made it for a Cinco de Mayo feast and we couldn’t get enough of it!
I’m with you Tanya and I’m not much on sports myself and I won’t be watching the superbowl but I had to drop by here to see what you had on your list girl. That white queso caught my eye and I will be trying that one.
Oh hell, they all caught my eye and are all going on my list. Gosh I love your recipes.
~Adrienne
It’s so good to know that I’m not alone in having little (okay, none) interest in sports. But I am a big fan of eating! The queso is so good. You can just never go wrong with melted cheese in my opinion! Glad I can tempt you, Adrienne! Appreciate your support!
Girl every time I come by your blog I gain 5 pounds and the worst part is that my mouth starts to water when your page starts to load.
I’m going to try the pulled pork sliders the white queso dip and of course those cupcakes that’s just gonna kill my diet!
The family loves football so we’ll be watching and eating for sure.
Thanks for sharing these yummy recipes Tanya!
Have a great new week!
While I admittedly don’t know a bad football game from a good one, I am pretty confident that your family will be cheering on the good eats! The pork sliders are fall apart tender and are super, super easy to make, which I really appreciate! And between you and me, after putting this post together I got an awful craving for those cupcakes …. so guess who needs to go frost some cupcakes. Yup, that would be m! LOL! You have a great week too, Corina!
I am so with you there. I have never been much on sports… Boring!!! But when it comes to food and snack … you have my attention. I love your recipe lineup. The Carmel Rice Krispy Bars look really fun. You’ve given some great ideas. Thanks 🙂
Yeah, I’m always the person cheering when everyone else does because I have no idea what’s going on. But the food, now that always has my full attention. You have to make a game plan there so you can sample as much as possible! LOL! The rice krispie bars are so good! Very rich and always popular with guests.
Hi Tanya,
I just came over here from Adrienne’s blog. The Super Bowl is in the 2nd quarter. So, I’m a little late for making any of these now but I have an event to go to on Saturday and those cupcakes look delicious!
Thanks for stopping Sherryl! Those cupcakes are one my go-to recipes and I bet they would be a big hit at your event. 🙂
