Mighty Max wanted to show his appreciation of me for Mom’s Day. I was honored and suspicious but agreed that we could join forces today, especially after my own post for my Mom wasn’t ready. There might have been a food failure involved. I’ll have my post for my Mom next Monday, assuming everything goes well in the kitchen!
Hi ya, everyone! It’s me MaxE! You are so fortunate to get a double dose of me this week. I know you feel super duper special, which you should too. It is a real big honor.
Max. I thought you wanted to acknowledge me, not brag about how cool you are.
Mama, please. Having a real cool cat like me clearly identifies you as being cool too. I mean it is not like Sir Max A Lot would have a lame Mama. You’re cool by association. And you’re welcome.
Ah. Thank you, I guess.
Anyway, it was only a couple of years ago that I was sitting in a cage at the Humane Society, bored out of my mind. Then walks in this short person — that would be Mama — she came over to pet me, which I graciously permitted her to do. She kept asking me if I was Max and I decided that I would be. She took me home with her that very day.
I remember that day very clearly too. You were too big for my carrier and I practically had to stuff you inside.
It was really uncomfortable being smushed up like that.
Sorry. I did buy a bigger carrier for you.
I hate carriers.
Well, you rarely ever have to go in one.
Thank goodness! It’s a good thing you learned to trim my nails, although I’m pretty sure that you shouldn’t close your eyes while you do it.
Right. Is there anything else you wanted to say?
Yes, there is. As the bestest and coolest cat in the world, it is only right that my Mama is the bestest and coolest Mama in the world. She snuggles and plays with me. She gives me delicious bedtime treats, although it would be even more awesome if the Max Man could have every meal treats. She gives me hundreds of smooches every day and rubs my belly too, which I actually enjoy. Mama says most cats don’t like belly rubs, well, Mighty Max ain’t most cats!
Wow, Max. That was really sweet. I’m feeling a little verklempt.
Enough to give me every meal treats?
No.
Outdoor privileges?
Nope.
A solemn paw swear to never make me wear clothes again?
Not a chance.
What do I get for being the bestest kitty?
My love, Max. My unconditional love.
Fair enough, Mama. MaxE loves you too! Happy Mom’s Day!
