You guessed it. The cold fairy gifted me with my annual after-Christmas cold again. Really, it was unnecessary! She could forget me about me … forever and I wouldn’t complain. 🙂 The good news is my cold was fairly mild overall. As soon as my throat started to ache, I immediately turned to my favorite natural cold remedies, and they truly made a difference since I woke-up on Sunday feeling pretty good. YEAH!!!. Thank goodness. I got plans for 2016 and they don’t involve being laid-up for weeks with a nasty cold.
Christmas in Minnesota was busy and wonderful. They didn’t have much snow when I arrived but by the time I left it looked like this …

Very pretty but cold. We all blamed my niece, Lexi, who wanted snow for Christmas and her birthday. She definitely got it. LA wasn’t snow covered, but it didn’t feel much warmer when I returned, although in retrospect, it was sauna compared to the 1 degree Minnesota was rocking when I left. 🙂
To keep things interesting, I had a little adventure on my way back home too. I missed my connecting flight in Las Vegas by … 5 minutes. ARGH!!! The bad storm that nailed Texas and Oklahoma finally hit the Midwest and delayed my originating flight to Las Vegas. Somehow, missing my flight by a significant amount of time would have been better than almost making it in time. Still, I can’t complain too much because a missed flight is annoyance but not really a big deal when you think of the damage and lives lost down South from the storm. I got off easy.
So that’s my past two weeks in a nutshell: snow and fun in Minnesota; sick and warmer in California. 🙂 I do plan to have a full post on Thursday with a recap of 2015. And my Dad did fix my camera! Woo hoo! I won’t have a food post this week (inherently dangerous to try new recipes when you really can’t taste food) but you can expect something yummy next week.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to you! Here’s to a fabulous 2016 and may the odds ever be in your favor or the force be with you! You can be both a Hunger Games and Star Wars fan.
How was your holidays?

Hey Tanya! So glad your cold didn’t last too long, and love that you used natural remedies!!! Can’t wait to hear more about your vaca – glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks, Laurie! My Christmas vacation was great. It went too fast, as always. I didn’t even have time to miss MaxE. Well, at least until I was stuck at the Las Vegas airport!
