Crockpot BBQ Chicken

A super simple crockpot recipe that takes only minutes to assemble with an end result of succulent, flavorful chicken.
Servings: 4 -6 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken I used drumsticks
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 bottle BBQ Sauce
  • 1 can Coca Cola

Instructions

  • Place chicken in crock pot. Add onion and lemon slices. Set aside 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce and pour remaining BBQ sauce and Coke over chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken is fully cooked.
  • Optional: remove chicken and place on a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. Baste with bbq sauce and broil until skin is crispy. Will only take a minute or two. May need to rotate chicken to get the skin crispy on all sides.
  • Combine 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce from the crockpot with the 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce you set aside earlier. Serve BBQ sauce on the side.

Notes

You can use any cut of chicken from a fryer to boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
